Who else HATES the Ice Cream Truck???

I didn't even know that the Ice Cream Truck was a real thing until adulthood. Either they didn't have them in the mid-west where I grew up or my mom did a dang good job at distracting me when it was around. Anyway, even if it DID exist, I would have known better than to pester my mom EVERYDAY for money for the Ice Cream Truck. She wouldn't have given me the money . . . guaranteed!

Why does the Ice Cream Truck feel compelled to circle the neighborhood TWICE a day? Who knows? I don't know anyone who buys ice cream twice a day on a daily basis. Anyway, Alex gets so excited when he hears that "Small World" tune in the distance. He bounds into the house in a panic for money. Well, a few weeks ago I was trying to get a little nap in before work and I heard "It's a Small World" coming towards the house. I thought to myself, "great, Alex will be in begging for money in a matter of seconds!" but it never happened. I thought it was strange, but was too comfortable to get up and investigate. Well, as it turns out, he had his new BYU wallet with him (which I definitely didn't buy for him) with the $5 in it that he won at BINGO on New Year's Eve. He not only treated himself but bought a round for the entire neighborhood! He came home an hour later with chocolate on his face and $1 left. I was soooo mad that he had wasted all his money on dumb ice cream. My mom thought it was sweet that he wanted to buy ice cream for everyone else. I still don't know what to think.

Well, about 10 minutes ago Alex came bounding in again asking for money. Of course I told him no, but asked where is wallet was. He started to cry and said,"Don't get mad Mommy! I bought Ian a treat yesterday, I got him a squishy hangerber and I got one too!" Then I started to feel bad for getting mad the last time. Ian broke his femur last week and has to be in a wheelchair for at least a month. So I said, "Well Alex, that was really nice of you to buy something for Ian. Was the squishy hamburger good?" He said, "It was so yummy! It had salad on it and even a mato (tomato) and bread!" It was so cute when he said that that I just wanted to squeeze him! However, once again all is money is gone. Wasted on that STUPID Ice Cream Truck!

I agree with your mom, I think that is the sweetest thing ever!!!! I do agree that the ice cream truck is so annoying. He was out the other day and it was so stinkin' cold. I am so glad that Brylee doesn't know what it is yet. She is an ice cream fanatic.

Nanci,

You never cease to make me laugh.

Oh what I would give to have it warm enough for an icecream truck! I think it could circle all day long and I would giggle I would be so happy! I guess I need to move down there! I'm a lot like you..I probably would've gotten mad at first too, but you have to admit that is pretty darn cute.

Hope all is well. We miss you at Bunko.
