My Day

Just a few fun things that happened today . . .

- Rachel taught me a "primary lesson" out of the phone book this morning. It went a little something like this:

Rachel: So, what do we do in primary (flip page and look up at me)
Me: Fold our arms and be reverent.
Rachel: No, we hold the bug spray (she got picked to go up front of primary and hold bug spray last week. They were talking about obeying our parents because they want to protect us . . . hence the bug spray).
Me: Oh, okay.
Rachel: What else? (flip page and look up at me)
Me: Well, listen to our teachers.
Rachel: No, color and get treats, Mom!

This went on for a while. She got through about 20 pages of the phone book. Good thing there are about a gazillion pages to go for our next "lesson"!

- Alex has been grounded since Saturday. Wow! What a mean mom! What could a 5 year old have possibly done to deserve such a punishment? Well, it's more what he won't do. See, his bedroom looks like there was a tornado in there. He refuses to clean it, as do I. I'm sorry, but I feel like I'm gonna barf every time a bend over . . . so it ain't gonna be me to give in! So, until that room gets clean, he is grounded. I say to him, "Alex, you better clean your room so you can play after preschool." His response? "Don't care!" And he doesn't.

- Just about 20 minutes ago, Alex found a petrified piece of poo in the costume bucket. Apparently Rachel deposited it there when she was going through a rough time with the potty training and we never found it! FUN! Now I get to wash every costume in the bucket (there's about 20)!

- I have about 4 loads of laundry to do, and about 4 loads waiting to be folded (I won't admit how long they have been waiting).

- I got ALL of Easter shopping done this afternoon while Alex was in preschool and Rachel was over at Grandma's house playing!

- And Last, but not Least, I vacuumed up all the ant bait from our ant infestation on Sunday.

What a day. Now I need to go make dinner.
