Sorry but this is another venting post.
My poor little Cole has been sick since Thursday. I am not the kind of mom that freaks out when her kids get sick. I can literally count on one hand how many times I have taken my kids (all 3 combined) to the doctor for a sickness. So, I didn't think much when Cole woke up with a fever Thursday afternoon. Well, Friday his fever kept getting worse and worse until it reached 103.9. I called the on-call doc and he instructed me to immediately take him to the ER (of course it was after instacare was closed). By the time we got there 15 minutes later his temp read 104.2. So, after 4 hours, a CBC, UA, and Strep Culture, the ER doc came in and said, "He must be teething. We can't find anything wrong with him."
Teething? Give me a break! This is my 3rd child. I think I know the symptoms of teething . . . and he had NONE of them (except a fever . . . but 104?).
Poor little buddy's temp reached 104 yesterday afternoon again and we, of course, did NOT take him back to the ER. I'm pretty worried about him. He has no other symptoms. No runny nose, normal appetite, wet and dirty diapers, etc. So it's a puzzle to me (and that is driving me crazy). I just hope we have a better night tonight and pray for no high fevers!

Teething? I think not!

Oh Nance, I'm so sorry. I hate fevers, they scare me. I went through them a couple times with Finn when he was little. I hope Cole starts feeling better soon!
That's scary. Teething? Okay.....sounds pretty suspicious.
Motrin and Tylenol around the clock is what I had to do with Samson. He did the same thing for like 4 days about a year ago. You have to watch out for dehydration because of the fever then chilling then fever etc. Hope he gets better.
Oh the great days of children's illness. I hope he is feeling better soon. Last time Alex had a 103 temp, he had pneumonioa and was up at Primary's for 3 days. Try to get some rest!
IT SUCKS SOO BAD TO HAVE SICK KIDS. MCKELLE WAS DOING THAT ONE TIME. THEY SENT A RAPID STREP CULTURE AND IT WAS NEG. SO THEY SENT IT FOR A CULTURE AND IT CAME BACK POS, SO THEY PUT HER ON AN ATBX. I HOPE YOU CAN FIGURE IT OUT.
Ugh. I am sorry you had to deal with a sick baby. I agree that 104 is a little high for teeth. Golly. I was going to give you garbage about my lack of nursing hand-me-downs. I can't do that on a post like this. Sorry!
Oh Nance, that seriously sucks. It is so hard when they can't tell you what hurts. I can't believe how high his fever has been. Keep in touch!
P.S. Check your e-mail re: mandy's shower.
I am sorry, how is he doing now? I need to call you, I keep thinking about it and then I get all busy and...whatever. My kids all would get these random fevers with NO other signs or symptoms and then everything would be just fine, weird.
