...For those of you who are keeping track, my baby's birthday predictions turned our to be pretty darn close. After arriving at the hospital at a little after 4pm, our newest little guy was born at 7:58pm! He weighed in at 8lbs 10oz and is 21 inches long (our smallest yet). He does have a bit of a bruised face after being squished through the birth canal - his uncle Dan thinks he could join the Blue Man Group and fit right in. Surprisingly though, his color is much improved after just one day.
One of my predictions that didn't materialize was that the delivery would be pain free! I have a new found respect for those who's epidurals don't work. I experienced a numb leg, but that was about it - not too fun but worth it in the end!

1 More Day!
Okay, so I've been up since 5 am. I can't sleep, so I thought I would check out blogs/update my own blog. Tomorrow is the big day and I'm just so anxious! I can't wait to meet this new little one! I have to work tonight (which hopefully will be a good distraction), then I will come home and sleep for a while, get up and go to the hospital. Crazy, I know, but that's how us night-shifters work. We schedule things around our sleep . . . including having babies.
Here are my predictions of how things will turn out (based on past experiences):
- I'll get to the hospital around 4 pm and have him around 8 pm.
- He will weigh in the HIGH 8 lb range (come on, who we kiddin', he'll probably weigh at least 9 lbs).
- He will be 21 inches long.
- He'll have old man hair-do (not too much in the front but lots in the back).
- I'll be pain-free and happy with lots of family around.
You will just have to check back in to see if my predictions are close!
By the way, Cami tipped me off to this: Do we remember Marquis from Brighton? Yes, the one that Cami made-out with and made us sick to watch in the hallways because of the PDA? Yeah, his name really isn't Marquis, but Marcus. Marcus Hardy to be exact and he is on "The Last Comic Standing". Cami happened to be watching it and saw him, but wasn't sure if he made it through to the next round. I DVR'd it and watched it and he did make it through to the next round. So ya'll will have to watch to see if he makes it any further. He looks way way way different than he did in high school but it's definitely him!

Me and my buddy Ellen D.
I know, I've got some weird obsessions. TV being one of them. We all know that pregnancy and sleep can produce wacky dreams. Well, when I woke up from this one I was strangely happy:
To start off with, I am grocery shopping. Alone with no other kids, however, I am pregnant in my dream. I see Ozzy and Amanda (from Survivor) and Julianne Hough (from Dancing with the Stars) off "conspiring" with each other.
I was so excited to see them in real life I decided to walk past them and down the next aisle and pretend I needed something down it. Well, I walk past and turn the corner. All the sudden, Ozzy yells out, "You are totally trying to hear what we are talking about! You don't need anything down that aisle. I see you in here all the time and I KNOW you don't need anything down there!" I reply, "Yes I do! I need a new laundry basket (which I really do)" Then Ozzy yells out to me again, "Well, I used to work here and the laundry baskets aren't down that aisle. I'll help you get one, though." With that he sprinted across the store and climbed up a tall shelf (just like monkey) and grabbed me one.
Okay, weird, but it gets even more strange.
Then, we (I can't remember who I'm with at this point) are driving away from the grocery store and the person I'm with says, "Hey, I need to stop at my friend Ellen's house. Do you mind if we stop by right now?" and I say, "That's fine." So she tells me how to get there. We pull up and go in and her friend is Ellen Degeneres. Ellen happens to be extremely pregnant and is excited to see me large with child too. She invites us in and offers us some nuts and apples with carmel dip. We sit down and are just making small talk when Ellen says, "Hey, I have a good idea, let's dance around like that baby from Ally McBeal!" And I'm totally excited about it. We jump up and start dancing around. It was so much fun!

Then I woke up. Weird, but good.

Ahhhh . . . Mother's Day
I have to admit that Mother's Day has not always been my favorite holiday. Many times it has been more of a disappointment than anything else. However, this Mother's Day was great and I have to give most of the credit to my wonderful husband. He really came through this year.
To start off with, I had to work last night into this morning and I fully expected to walk into a messy house like normal after I have worked but I was quite surprised. I walked into a CLEAN house!
Then I walked into my bedroom to get ready for bed and saw a vase of flowers on my nightstand with a card next to it. I didn't open it right away because I wanted to wait for Jason and the kids to be there, but HOW NICE! I got ready for bed and fell asleep.
A few hours later Jason and the kids woke me up to give me my cards/presents made in preschool. This is all I really expected. Then, Jason told Alex to show me the rest of my present. Alex made me cover up my eyes and follow him. He took me into the baby's room and to my surprise, all the things I have been begging Jason to hang were hung including the airplane that my sisters bought for me as a baby gift. He has it suspended from the corner of the room with fishing line. It looks AWESOME! (pics in the future . . . sorry)
Then, Jason got the kids ready and took them to his mom's house so I could get some more uninterrupted sleep. I slept the rest of the morning in a nice quite house.
Next, church. Then dinner at my mom's house . . . yummy. Home by 8:30, and rest and relax time. It really was a great day!
I love my little family so much and are so grateful for them. They truly make me happy. I remember after Alex was born I was on cloud 9 for months and months. I had never been so happy in my entire life. He brought so much joy to our house. Then Rachel was born and she was been such a ray of sunshine in our family. She is so sweet, my sweet little angel, and I just love her! I can't wait to see what this next little guy is like. I'm sure he will enrich my life in ways I haven't imagined. I really can't believe it's right around the corner.
I love being a mom, especially on days like today!

Tidbits . . .
I guess there is some sore of stomach bug going around and I had the pleasure of getting it! Lucky me! So, I spent the whole weekend on the couch wanting to die! It didn't help that Jason had plans to go to Vegas for the day on Saturday. Thanks to Kate and Jen for stepping up and taking my kids for me. I don't know what I would have done if I had to be a "Mom" last Saturday!
Tuesday I had a doctor's appt. My doctor and I decided on May 27th as the big day for little baby no-name to be born. Yeah! Only 19 more days. That means 19 more days to decide on a name and get my baby gear in order. HOLY CRAP, only 19 more days! What am I gonna do?
Next on the agenda: get things in order for my Lia Sophia party. I pushed my whale of a body past it's limits trying to clean and organize my house. Of course I did too much. When you are nesting you can't just "clean" your house. You have to organize every aspect of it. This would include shampooing the carpet, organizing Rachel's clothes that don't fit anymore . . . which leads to re-organizing her entire closet (whose going to see her closet anyway???), washing windows, scrubbing the floor, organizing the baby's closet (once again, who will see this?), etc. You get my point. I did too much. I cleaned myself into physical pain for this "awesome" party I was going to have. Lets just say "awesome" isn't the word I would use to describe how it turned out. "Bomb" "Bust" "Disappointment" "Embarrassment" "Dud" are just a few words I would use. A big shout out to Dana for being the only non-family member to show up. Thanks Dana! I love you! Anyways, my house is clean now and I learned a good lesson: Parties on Wednesday nights are a BAD idea. In fact, parties in general are a BAD idea. (thanks for the vent)
Tomorrow Alex and I have a date to attend "Kindergarten Round-up". Yep, that's right. My baby is going to be a kindergartner next fall. I'll be so glad to not have to pay $120 a month for preschool anymore (for him at least)!
I bought diapers/wipes yesterday for the first time in about 9 months. Wow. That was a weird feeling!
Hmmmmm, that was a bit of a downer post! That's all for now. I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day. You are all such amazing moms and deserve the best the day has to offer.

Lia Sophia Party
Okay, so I know I'm kinda being a freak about this whole Lia Sophia thing, but I am actually in love with the jewelry! I know, me? I don't wear jewelry! Yep, I do . . . now.
